Description

Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing the following:

  • People experiencing homelessness
  • Indigenous communities
  • Immigrant communities
  • Rural communities
  • BIPoC communities
  • LGBTQIA+ communities
  • Justice-impacted communities

The WEA team is diverse, inclusive, and nimble enough to assemble teams of healthcare professionals within days using our proven local staff recruitment models to address population health crises and communicable disease outbreaks. The WEA team’s partnership model is collaborative and allows hospitals, health jurisdictions, state/local government agencies to provide timely care using equity-based strategies for individuals and marginalized communities.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within our facility, ensuring the well-being of staff, visitors, and patients. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas according to established protocols
  • Dispose of waste and hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition
  • Follow infection control procedures and safety guidelines at all times
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as needed
  • Document cleaning activities and supply usage accurately
  • Must complete and be able to maintain current training in bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, and HIPAA

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or a related field preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA standards
