Description

Shape the Future of Mission-Critical Cloud Infrastructure

Prime Solutions Group (PSG) is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and operate next-generation cloud infrastructures that support key U.S. government missions. In this role, you will work with major cloud platforms, modern DevSecOps toolchains, and advanced automation to deliver secure, scalable, and highly resilient systems—critical to national defense and mission success.

If you’re passionate about cloud engineering, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want your work to have real-world national impact, this is the place to do it.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and evolve cutting-edge cloud environments that support complex, mission-essential government programs.
  • Drive the full DevSecOps lifecycle—from requirements and design through development, integration, testing, deployment, monitoring, and sustainment.
  • Lead cloud modernization efforts, implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerization, IaC, automated testing, and secure-by-design methodologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary agile teams to design high-performing, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions.
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented, maintainable code that meets mission and customer objectives.
  • Build comprehensive unit and automated tests to ensure reliability, maintain high code quality, and enable rapid iteration.
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and implement performance improvements.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping elevate team expertise and technical excellence.
  • Lead continuous innovation efforts, staying current with industry trends and emerging cloud technologies such as advanced CI/CD practices, automated testing, and modern security frameworks.
  • Document architectures, deployments, and system behavior, producing technical reports, diagrams, and user documentation.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for government contract eligibility)
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher — with the ability to obtain and maintain additional clearance levels if needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including provisioning, automation, and operational management.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, containerization, and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting highly complex, mission-critical projects.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) expertise using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Proficient with Git and modern version control workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based development, feature branching).
  • Cloud security knowledge, including secure-by-design principles, cloud hardening, IAM best practices, and compliance frameworks.
  • Cloud networking proficiency, including VPCs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Experience with single sign-on (SSO) and identity federation solutions.
  • Strong Python development skills, including automation, tooling, or infrastructure scripting.
  • Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and public-key cryptography concepts.
  • Experience with AWS WorkSpaces or virtual desktop environments.
  • Proficiency in Windows system administration and experience managing Active Directory or managed AD services.
  • Solid experience in Linux environments, including configuration, automation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of IC Customer Environment best practices (highly desired for intelligence community–related work).
  • Experience designing or supporting managed Active Directory or identity services in cloud environments.

Why This Role Matters

Your expertise will directly support U.S. government agencies and national security programs. The systems you build will enable critical operations, intelligence workflows, and mission success for teams relying on resilient, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructures.

This is more than a DevOps role—it’s an opportunity to innovate, lead, and contribute to work that truly matters.
