Salary: $21.69 per hour

Location: Onsite at CARTA Headquarters

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the oversight and management of the UKG Ready timekeeping system, ensuring accurate employee time records, compliance with organizational policies and timely payroll process. In addition, the position will provide essential administrative and clerical support within the department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support timekeeping functions, including entering and verifying employee time data in UKG Ready (preferred).
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry into various systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with maintaining records, filing systems, and departmental documentation.
  • Prepare, update, and format documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing basic information for departmental projects.
  • Ensure confidential handling of sensitive and personnel-related information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1–2 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and speed.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using UKG Ready (Kronos) or similar HRIS/timekeeping systems.
  • Prior experience in transportation, government, or public service environment.
  • Familiarity with filing systems, document management, and basic reporting.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Work Location & Compensation:

Location: Monday-Friday Hours to be determined based on need, not to exceed 29 hours per week, on-site at CARTA headquarters in Chattanooga, TN
