Position Information

Position Title Adjunct American Sign Language Instructor Requisition Number A00075P Job Summary/Basic Function

Part-time adjunct instructor of American Sign Language to teach one or two lower-division (1000 and 2000 level) language and culture courses per semester as needed. To deliver face-to-face instruction to university students, and to collaborate with other ASL adjunct instructors. Sections of this course are typically offered on the Ogden campus in the evening. A complete syllabus is provided to all instructors. Instructors follow the course scope-and-sequence and develop lesson plans working toward unit and course assessment.

  • This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become

available. After a period of time, the pool will expire, and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in ASL or related field. One year of ASL teaching experience at the college level. Individuals with extensive teaching experience at the secondary level may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of at least Advanced High in the ACTFL proficiency scale.
