The Assistant Director of Benefits is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and management of benefits and resources to attract, retain and develop top talent. This role plays a critical part in creating a positive and healthy work environment, ultimately leading to increased Team Member satisfaction, engagement, and productivity. This individual may be responsible for other benefit programs and initiatives in support of Fontainebleau's total rewards offerings.

This individual will develop strategies, manage vendor relationships, and serve as a subject matter expert to ensure high levels of performance, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and education of our total rewards offerings. This role partners with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Payroll, and Legal, to deliver a comprehensive benefits package. This individual will ensure benefit plans are administered in accordance with policies and procedures and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

  • Handles Team Member benefits related issues including Team Member requests and inquiries, requests for assistance and education and issue resolution. Conducts internal audits to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Assists new Team Members with benefit enrollments/qualifying event changes, leave of absence, and parking inquiries. Conducts new hire benefits orientations and other trainings related to benefits and leaves of absence.
  • Monitors vendor performance and escalates issues as needed. Assists in vendor evaluation.
  • Understands and interprets applicable benefit regulations including ERISA, PPACA, ADA and HIPAA. Keeps current regarding legislative changes and ensure plans remain compliant. Assists with timely completion and submission of required governmental and organizational reports and filings.
  • Responsible for ACA Administration including monthly, mid-year, and annual hours audits for non-union Team Members.
  • Understands and ensures administration of Union benefits in accordance with CBA, including quarterly hours audits.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment process including plan implementation, HRIS/systems testing, and communications. Participates in Team Member enrollment meetings as needed on an individual or group basis throughout the year. Responsible for post Open Enrollment data verifications and reconciliation.
  • Oversee Leave administration process and internal communications, ensuring that eligible Team Members receive the full protections intended under the FMLA, ADAAA and other Leave of Absence programs.
  • Assists in reconciliation of monthly carrier invoices for all insurances. Resolves discrepancy issues with carrier representatives. Ensures approved wire transfer forms and supporting documentation are submitted to Finance monthly to ensure timely payment. Complete Weekly Claims funding for self-insured medical benefits.
  • Assists with the Company's 401(k) plan as needed, coordinate enrollment campaigns, and partner with Finance on the annual 401(k) audit.
  • Assists in plan design and execution of the FitForBleau wellness program and annual Health Fair to include coordination with vendors/broker and communication of the program to the Team Members as well as Biometric screening, health assessments, and any other wellness initiatives including tuition reimbursement.
  • Coordinate monthly on-site wellness initiatives and Know Your Benefits campaigns to promote awareness of benefit offerings.
  • Oversee parking for all Team Members - facilitate access, initiate enrollments/cancellations, managing waitlists, and processing payments to City of Miami Beach.
  • Responsible for maintaining Team Member benefit files, LOA information, and beneficiary information to include maintaining Team Member personnel files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or combination of four years relevant education and experience.
  • 3+ years of Team Member health and welfare and/or retirement plan experience, hotel preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment while meeting strict regulatory and Company deadlines.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point required.
  • Ability to handle high volume of requests.
  • Must be highly detail oriented.
  • Must have experience with HRIS systems; preferably with Paycom.
  • Prior Union experience preferred.
