Reporting to the VP of Engineering, The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for delivering reliable, user-focused technology support that enables Sifted associates to work efficiently and confidently. This hands-on role oversees daily IT operations, provides technical assistance, manages hardware and software assets, and ensures a consistent, positive support experience across the organization. This role will support internal systems, SaaS platforms, networking environments, SOC 2 compliance activities, and other operational initiatives.

This hands-on role oversees daily IT operations, provides technical assistance, manages hardware and software assets, and ensures a consistent, positive support experience across the organization. This role will support internal systems, SaaS platforms, networking environments, SOC 2 compliance activities, and other operational initiatives.
Requirements
End-User Support & Device Management
- Provide day-to-day support for company hardware including laptops, peripherals, printers, and basic networking equipment.*
- Manage the full asset lifecycle for end-user devices, including inventory, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.*
- Ensure software licenses, user access, and device configurations are accurate and compliant.
- Identify hardware/software needs and coordinate timely replacements or upgrades.
- Assist with budgeting recommendations for IT equipment and licensing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT incidents, service requests, troubleshooting, escalations, onboarding & offboarding.*
- Ensure support requests are resolved promptly with clear, professional communication.*
- Coordinate with external vendors and ensure performance aligns with SLAs.
- Support integration or optimization of SaaS tools and internal applications.
- Provide support for systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian tools, Salesforce, and other SaaS platforms.*
- Manage SOC 2-related processes, evidence collection, documentation, and ongoing compliance activities.*
- Coordinate annual SOC 2 audits and ensure controls are implemented and maintained across systems.*
- Assist with internal security initiatives, including endpoint management, patching, access reviews, and risk mitigation.
- Promote strong security practices across the organization and ensure policies are adhered to.
- 3+ years of IT Support, Help Desk, or Systems Support experience.
- Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments (AWS/Azure preferred).
- Experience supporting SOC 2 or other compliance frameworks strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to independently resolve advanced technical issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Customer-service mindset with the ability to work professionally with all levels, including executives.
- Expertise with MacOS and Windows operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian JIRA, Cisco Meraki, and AWS.
- Experience with JumpCloud preferred.
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and basic networking concepts.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate business needs into practical IT solutions.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to embrace AI as a core tool for problem-solving and innovation.*
- Denotes an essential function/qualification of the role.
