Restorative Nurse LPN Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs restorative care services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
  • Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning restorative care.
  • Develops and maintains restorative care standards.
  • Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies
  • Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing restorative care services.
  • Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
  • Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc.
  • Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
  • Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
  • Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel
  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
  • Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of shift as required.
  • All other duties, as assigned.


Restorative Nurse LPN Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Serves as the expert in Restorative Care.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.


Restorative Nurse LPN Education and Experience:

  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • 1 year of restorative experience preferred.
  • Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
  • Long-Term care experience preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
