New Life Mission is looking for a highly motivated, detail-orientated people-person to coordinate communications and marketing efforts for our growing nonprofit as we continue to help Brevard County mothers with children permanently break the cycle of homelessness.
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content creation, social media management, event assistance, and marketing and printing efforts under the direction of the Director of Development. The ability to be compassionate, respectful and sensitive to confidential information is required. Demonstrated ability to handle stress and maintain professionalism while working under pressure, managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content creation, social media management, event assistance, and marketing and printing efforts under the direction of the Director of Development. Content Creation
- Collaborate with all departments to obtain and create meaningful written, digital, photo and video content to be used across multiple platforms for New Life Mission and the Transformed Shop
- Provide input on content strategy
- Write and submit press releases to print and digital publications
- Maintain social media profiles for New Life Mission and the Transformed Shop, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Create content and schedule/post daily to social media platforms using a combination of photos, videos, infographics and links
- Create content and manage promotion of events on social media
- Monitor online activity and encourage greater social media participation
- Identify opportunities to influence public perception through audience engagement
- Interview mothers, children, staff, donors and volunteers for digital and print publications, and write copy
- Design and create brochures, postcards, invitations, newsletters, reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other print and digital materials
- Price compare printing costs between vendors to obtain the best deal
- Design and schedule email and text message campaigns
- Manage printing in-house and with outside vendors
- Manage photo releases and “Do Not Publish” lists for marketing and social media purposes.
- Articulate the mission to employees, volunteers, families and donors
- Represent the mission in a professional, courteous and positive manner at all times
- Maintain professional behavior to include respecting program participants and other staff, maintaining confidentiality, and setting appropriate personal boundaries.
- Other duties as assigned by CEO or Director of Development
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism or related career
- Ability to manage priorities and maintain publishing schedule with a degree of autonomy
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Proficient in use of graphic design software (Canva), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher), video editing software, email platforms (Constant Contact), and social media management platforms.
- Ability to write clear, concise, accurate notes and other communications
- Experience as a content creator with available portfolio
- Position is located in Melbourne, FL
- Full-time position
