A role in Finance Risk & Controls calls on your risk acumen and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance knowledge to build a world-class internal control environment. Here, you’ll collaborate to assess risk, design controls and provide insights to develop innovative risk management solutions. Championing an adaptive, initiative driven and transformational mindset to cultivate new ideas will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.
As a Sr. Process Analyst in Risk & Controls, you will be on a team that builds strong partnerships across finance, technology and enterprise risk teams to provide guidance on internal controls. This role is rooted in effective relationships built with partner teams, enabling you to generate cross-team perspectives and empowering you to communicate control recommendations. You will proactively identify existing and emerging risks, assist with maintaining a comprehensive internal control program for the company, work with business partners to develop and update internal controls and related documentation (process maps, risk & control matrices, process narratives, etc.), keep up to date with the various systems and applications in use and use continuous improvement strategies to strengthen the control environment.

About You
- Four-year degree in Accounting (or equivalent) and 3-6 years of related experience
- Internal or external audit experience related to SOX compliance audits
- Experience in audit and enterprise risk management concepts (e.g., risk assessment/prioritization, process & internal controls, root cause analysis)
- Aptitude for IT control concepts including testing configurable controls, deriving completeness and accuracy test plans around key reports, and leading control design conversations around system integrations
- Subject matter expertise in SOX, US GAAP and financial operations
- Familiarity using data and analytical tools, including Excel, visualization solutions and other means of automation, to solve business problems
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking aptitude
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to synthesize multiple pieces of information into an easy-to-understand narrative
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally in broad, ambiguous projects, including creating and executing project plans
- Capable of exhibiting a strong, thoughtful, point of view in areas of expertise
- CPA, CISA or similar designation preferred
