Founding Teacher / School Leader at Primer

Date: 15 hours ago
City: Dothan, AL
Contract type: Full time

You’ve been in the classroom for years, and you know kids deserve more than what they’re getting. Maybe you’ve imagined opening a school that truly meets the needs of your community.

Primer helps exceptional educators launch K-8 schools in their communities through the Primer Fellowship, the program that prepares you to build and lead a school that takes kids seriously.

The Fellowship is an eight-month, part-time program that prepares you to launch and lead a new Primer school, a small K-8 school built on mastery-based learning, real-world projects, and a culture that takes kids seriously.

  • Master Primer’s culture, commitments, and academic model.
  • Engage families and recruit students in your community alongside Primer Admissions.
  • Build your team and prepare to open a school that’s built to last.

The paid Fellowship includes weekly live programming, online coursework, and hands-on fieldwork that you can fit alongside your current job, because big leaps start small.

By August 2026, you'll open the doors of a new Primer campus in Dothan and step into the role of a Primer Leader: an educator who teaches, leads, and builds.

Those who complete the program will step into a full-time leadership role with:

  • Competitive salary, benefits, and equity in Primer.
  • A newly formed campus team, teaching and leading at a brand-new Primer school.
  • A national network of peers and mentors shaping the future of American education.
