Position Overview

The Veterinary Clinical Trainer supports clinical excellence across United Veterinary Care by developing and delivering high-quality training for veterinary teams, with an emphasis on those in general practice settings. This role designs Train-the-Trainer programs, creates clinical learning resources, and facilitates both virtual and in-person training. The Veterinary Clinical Trainer partners with hospital and regional leaders to identify skill gaps, tailor training to local needs, and ensure consistent standards across hospitals. Through ongoing evaluation and collaboration, this role helps strengthen team capabilities, support career pathways, and elevate the overall learning experience for UVC team members. This is a remote position with 50% travel expectation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Train the Trainer curricula for clinical and operational roles.
  • Create supplemental materials, job aids, facilitator guides, and learning assets that support program success.
  • Collaborate with the L&D team members to establish career pathways for team member development.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders to identify training priorities and tailor content to local needs.
  • Develop and maintain training programs (both virtual and in-person workshop delivery), ensuring consistent standards across hospitals.
  • Partner with other L&D team members to align clinical education with leadership, communication, and service excellence programs.
  • Work closely with hospital leadership dyads to determine an internal training lead(s) who will champion and coordinate ongoing training initiatives.


Training Delivery

  • Facilitate live virtual and in-person workshops, coaching sessions, and small-group trainings for veterinary teams.
  • Model effective training practices by demonstrating instructional design and facilitation techniques for trainers.
  • Provide Train the Trainer support to hospital leaders to help them confidently lead training sessions.
  • Engage in field travel to conduct workshops, assess training impact, and support program rollouts.


Collaboration & Consultation

  • Work cross-functionally with Regional Operations, Clinical Operations, and Talent Development to align educational efforts.
  • Partner with UVC key stakeholders and team members to gather and analyze feedback from participants and leaders to continuously improve training effectiveness.


Program Evaluation

  • Monitor training participation, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Create and track metrics and provide regular reports on program success, feedback trends, and improvement plans.
  • Ensure all educational content reflects current best practices in veterinary medicine, adult learning, and customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical role or training-related veterinary role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Anesthesia (pre-op, procedures, and post-op recovery) and Dental procedures, including dental radiology.


Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a training, mentorship, or leadership development role.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and blended learning models.
  • Experience developing training materials or leading workshops in veterinary or healthcare settings.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • RECOVER certified


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent work at a computer for 50% of the time.
  • Frequent travel (50% of the time).
  • Frequent to moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Frequent ability to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.
