Principal Trading Engineer (Java, Algo, SOR) – Crypto Trading

Fidelity Digital Assets is seeking a Principal Trading Engineer to develop and maintain low-latency, high-performance trading systems for cryptocurrency markets. This hands-on role is ideal for engineers experienced in trading, algo systems, and cloud-based deployments.

What you’ll do:

• Design and implement technology solutions for digital asset trading
• Build ultra-low latency trading algorithms, matching engines, and smart order routers
• Work with WebSocket, FIX protocols, and modern Java zero-GC patterns
• Collaborate across teams on APIs, distributed systems, and resilient messaging services
• Mentor and guide small agile teams, setting technical direction and driving innovation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field
• 10+ years trading engineering experience, preferably in crypto or capital markets
• Expertise in low-latency design patterns, trading systems, and kernel bypass tech
• Experience with SQL, time-series databases, microservices, and cloud deployments
• Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
