Specialist, Talent Acquisition, People Engagement & Operations

Talent Acquisition is foundational to the success of any business. By focusing on a positive candidate experience, building a strong employer brand, and leveraging data, you can ensure that the organization attracts the right talent that aligns with its culture and growth objectives. The Specialist, Talent Acquisition must work closely with Managers to understand their recruiting needs, post open positions, interview, and hire new team members, and to assist in the administration of training programs. The Specialist, Talent Acquisition, must be able to work effectively and efficiently with all company departments to ensure their specific training needs are met.

What You Will Do Here

  • Talent Sourcing, Recruitment & Career Fairs: Build strategies for sourcing global diverse candidates, including job postings, collegiate recruiting events, and partnerships with educational institutions. Use social media, job boards, university partnerships, career fairs and industry-specific channels to attract top talent.
  • Brand Ambassador: Position the company as an employer of choice. Act as an ambassador and hospitality hero to candidates. This could involve showcasing the company’s culture, values, and employee success stories in recruitment marketing materials.
  • Candidate Experience: Ensure the hiring process offers a seamless, transparent, and engaging experience for candidates. This includes everything from the initial application process to email communications, interviews, feedback, skill testing and onboarding.
  • Selection Process & Hiring: Streamline and optimize the recruitment pipeline, focusing on efficiency, candidate experience, and skills alignment. Ensure social media profiles are reviewed, reach out to internal employees that may have a connection to candidate to confirm experience, and obtain letters of recommendation supporting candidates experience.
  • Skill Testing: In partnership with department managers, build, administer and communicate skill tests or aptitude tests to final candidates, to ensure alignment with anticipated role.
  • Onboarding: Ensure a smooth transition from recruiting to onboarding for both candidates, managers and other team members.
  • Collaborate with all corporate department managers to:
    • Discuss potential department gaps/openings and recruiting plan for their department
    • Determine key qualifications for prospective new hires for their teams
    • Determine 3-5 core interview questions (and their desired outcomes) related specifically to their department
    • Determine training opportunities for managers that may be new to interviewing (what you can and cannot ask in an interview)
    • Participate in Enrichment Initiatives, as assigned: Wellness, Global Giveback and DEI+B
Talent Acquisition

  • Maintain the career center in Talent Acquisition System
  • Post internal and external positions. Post jobs via Talent Acquisition System (which includes feeds to Indeed, Career Builder, Glassdoor, LinkedIn); and as needed through Meeting Jobs, MPI, PCMA, Site, Milwaukee Jobs, etc.
  • When approved by management, also post the opening on the HUB
  • Weekly, review candidates and qualify them for the positions applied for and manipulate the status for the candidate as needed (may have multiple positions they are a fit for)
  • Keep Smartsheet and recruiting platform notes on all applicants so that they can easily be referenced
  • Ensure Smartsheet scorecards and notes are submitted by all interviewing managers
  • Close jobs in recruiting platform when filled or no longer required
  • Send email communications and rejection notification as required
  • Perform initial interview with applying candidates, to determine if they are a “culture fit” for M&IW
  • Determine what sets them apart from other candidates
  • Investigate and research candidates through LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media resource
  • Be a Brand Ambassador to sell the M&IW brand during recruiting, interviewing and onboarding of applicants.
  • Understand the difference between corporate and third-party candidates and how to promote M&IW differently
  • Be prepared for questions received from candidates coming from the hotel side, and the different skills they would offer for the different positions in the company
  • Get salary information from candidate and include in Smartsheet (kept confidential in PE&O)
  • Schedule follow up interviews with managers, providing detailed notes from interview and determine correct placement or path within M&IW and salary rage for the level within the position
  • Advise CEO of candidates moving to offer and provide salary information
  • Ensure reference checks are completed on potential candidates
  • University Career Fairs: Maintain working relationships and contacts with preferred colleges for new entry level employees. Build a partnership to include class speakers, subject matter experts, collegiate webinars, to advertise M&W as a preferred partner.
  • Analyze existing recruiting tool to determine functionality for recruiting purposes, and to ensure we are utilizing all relevant features
  • Manage and administer new employee surveys
    • Ensuring survey questions are current and relevant
    • Ensuring surveys are sent and responded to in a timely manner
    • Follow up on responses as need with managers or trainers
    • Evolve training process based on survey feedback
  • Maintain a limited number of states that we need to open for employees. Ensure a state is available before proceeding with a candidate
  • Maintain continued updates of recruiting documentation to the Hub
  • Maintain job description library to keep current and expanding roles up to date
Onboarding & Training

  • Assist the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development in transitioning new employees to onboarding
  • Support the build of new training within the platform as needed
  • Provide additional training support as needed

What You Will Bring

  • College Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing and managing data in a Talent Acquisition System
  • Have a full understanding of our industry, including the HCP side, to help qualify candidates.
  • Ability to work with and train associates/colleagues of all levels and abilities
  • Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office Products
  • Highly proficient in UKG, Smartsheet, Cvent, Concur
