Job Summary

The Director, Internal Communications & Engagement leads internal communications for Rady Children’s Health, with the goal of driving employee and physician engagement, trust, and cultural alignment. Reporting to the Associate Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, this role is dedicated to helping ensure physicians and employees feel connected to the organization’s mission by ensuring the provision of consistent communications and clear messaging that support organizational priorities and builds confidence in leadership.

Pay Range

Minimum $121,347 Midpoint $160,826 Maximum $200,283

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

  • Required: At least eight (8) years in communications; minimum five (5) years in a leadership/management role.
  • Preferred: Healthcare or large complex system experience.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in related discipline.

Training

  • Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

  • Required: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, engaging and compelling content for diverse audiences. Excellent presentation skills, including preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations. Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to connect strategy and culture through compelling narratives that inspire physicians and employees. Change communication, including anticipating physician/employee concerns and crafting messages that builds understanding and foster trust. Leadership and people management skills. Expertise in employee/internal comms channels. Strong collaboration and relationship-building across departments, including HR and Medical Staff. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and clarity. Data-driven approach to communications measurement
