We are seeking an experienced Parts / Components Engineer to join our team. The Parts / Components Engineer supports the selection process of qualifying materials / components and drive the selection and qualifications of space grade EEE components for current and future space satellites.

We are seeking an experienced Parts / Components Engineer to join our team. The Parts / Components Engineer supports the selection process of qualifying materials / components and drive the selection and qualifications of space grade EEE components for current and future space satellites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages selection process of qualifying materials / components used in the company’s technology
- Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources
- Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes
- Assess components for compliance to program and industry PMP requirements (INST-002, JEDEC, etc.)
- Develops guidelines / procedures on vendor selection for space level parts
- Interfaces with other departments (i.e. Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing) to implement changes, coordinate new processes or communicate arrival of unscreened parts and other issues concerning parts
- Generate plans, procedures, and EEE part procurement and screening documents (SCD’s) for aerospace programs as required by customer standards and/or contract
- Review screening and test data received from manufacturers and test laboratories for compliance to specifications, purchase order requirements, and program contract compliance
- Drive the selection and qualification of space grade EEE components for current and future space satellites
- Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed
- May maintain component data management system including qualification records / results/ documentation which include but not limited to reviewing, approving and maintaining data sheets / screening test reports of flight parts and materials received against purchase orders
- Ensures that the correct parts are received and conforming to the SCD’s written for the parts
- Prepared to present information to Customers during visits inquiring traceability and other related issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills
- Understanding of supply chain logistics and industry standards
- Effective communication and collaborative skills for working with cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at once
- Aerospace / Defense Manufacturing Experience Preferred
- Radiation knowledge a plus
