Job Description Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager. This role coordinates the onboarding process for new hires and non-paid individuals. The Talent Acquisition Specialist functions as the customer services contact for the Human Resources department.

Job Description

  • 20% - Serve as the customer service contact for visitors the Department of Human Resources Management. Assist customers with questions and issues as necessary, providing requested information within established guidelines. Receive incoming telephone calls, respond to inquiries, route calls - forwarding calls as necessary to appropriate University/Hospital Authority personnel and/or take messages as necessary. Provide general information regarding the employment process to customers. Assist in resolving general questions. Route more complex situations to the appropriate HRM staff member for necessary action. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Provide assistance with the onboarding process for new hires, as well as New Employee Orientation. Coordinate documentation for orientation, ensuring appropriate employees are scheduled to attend. Ensure non-FTE paperwork is maintained in Employment for sign-up purposes. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Assist applicants in the on-line application process. Function as the applicant tracking system resource for applicants and University hiring managers. Assist applicants and hiring managers by entering any necessary information into the applicant tracking system, if necessary. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Issues NetIDs and updates sponsorships in the HRIS system, assuring that all records are accurate and up to date. Uses discretion when issuing new external monitor NetID requests and obtains approval when necessary. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Coordinate the onboarding process for non-paid individuals (volunteers, contracted staff, visiting students/scholars, etc.). This includes scheduling health screenings, reviewing background checks, issuing NetIDs, collecting paperwork, and assigning mandatory trainings. - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to function within a large, fast-paced environment comprised of a wide range of visitors, students, faculty and employees, both internally and externally. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with a diverse multi-cultural client base, and deal discreetly with large amounts of sensitive, confidential information. Incumbent must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work effectively and efficiently, in an environment with frequently changing priorities.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years clerical or administrative experience in a human resources setting. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
