Summary / Position Purpose

The Director of Acquisition & Retention leads full-funnel performance marketing— from customer acquisition to long-term retention. This role develops strategies that attract new customers, engage existing ones, and strengthen TestEquity’s position within key industry segments across the electronics lifecycle.

This person manages automation, data, and segment strategy to deliver personalized, measurable marketing programs. They will align messaging and campaigns to drive pipeline growth, improve conversion, and increase customer lifetime value across all brands.

This position is responsible for building, testing, and optimizing workflows; leading database management; and delivering clear, actionable reporting on campaign performance. This role ensures our automation efforts are scalable, accurate, and aligned with company goals.

Essential Duties, Functions And/or Responsibilities

  • Lead acquisition, retention, and segment marketing strategy for the U.S. and Mexico markets.
  • Oversee all automation, databases, and lifecycle marketing initiatives, ensuring campaigns are targeted by segment and buying stage.
  • Develop and execute industry-specific marketing strategies (e.g., aerospace, automotive, electronics manufacturing, energy, and R&D).
  • Manage and mentor the Automation, MarTech, and Segment Marketing teams to execute scalable, data-driven campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Product, Supplier Marketing, and Sales to align campaign messaging to customer needs and lifecycle stages.
  • Analyze campaign and segment performance to inform strategy, optimize ROI, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Build and refine customer journeys that increase conversion, retention, and engagement.
  • Partner with Sales to improve lead quality, nurture alignment, and segment-based account targeting.
  • Directly and indirectly responsible for product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field required.
  • 4+ years of experience in B2B marketing automation, with 3+ years hands-on Marketo expertise.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, lead nurturing, and funnel optimization.
  • Analytical mindset with proven ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Dynamics preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with a passion for automation and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to design and execute integrated marketing strategies that drive measurable growth across customer acquisition, retention, and segment performance.
  • Strong command of data-driven decision-making, with experience in campaign attribution, funnel metrics, and ROI analysis.
  • Deep understanding of customer journeys, segmentation, and multi-channel nurture campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (Marketo preferred), CRM systems (Dynamics preferred), and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to tailor messaging, positioning, and campaign strategies by industry and stage in the electronics lifecycle.
  • Skilled at leading cross-functional teams and working with Sales, Product, and Supplier Marketing to ensure alignment.
  • Exceptional presentation, reporting, and storytelling skills to convey performance results and strategic recommendations.
