Job Summary

The purpose of this position is for preparing and packing a variety of parts for shipments.

Essential Functions

  • Reads and understands work orders
  • Packs products safely so that the package can be transported without damage
  • Constructs boxes and containers correctly when required
  • Selects the correct materials for packing and protection as specified in the work order
  • Verifies the specific checklist for the job to ensure all parts are packed for shipment
  • Weigh counts parts for packing
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work environment
  • Adheres to siffron Des Plaines safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns.

Secondary Functions

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Ability to meet production quota
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain desired quality
  • Epicor punch accuracy
  • Compliance with all Company policies (Safety, Attendance, etc.)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)

  • Must be able to communicate/read/write in the English language
  • Must have good math skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to work well and communicate with others

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

  • None

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to be able to stand for long periods of time is required
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
