Purpose of Job

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with key marketplace sellers to drive sales, optimize product performance, and ensure alignment with Newegg’s merchandising and marketing strategies. This role involves coordinating across internal teams, analyzing business data, and developing promotional opportunities to enhance category performance and seller success.

Job Description

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with marketplace sellers, serving as their main point of contact.
  • Engage proactively with sellers to understand their needs, identify growth opportunities, and improve their store performance.
  • Manage product merchandising and participate in promotional planning to drive traffic and conversion.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to execute deals, campaigns, and category-specific programs.
  • Oversee key category storefronts and maintain accurate and optimized seller content on the Newegg platform.
  • Monitor e-commerce trends, sales data, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze internal and external data to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Manage vendor P&L, including MDF and Co-op accounts, ensuring budget utilization aligns with business goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to enhance product visibility, availability, and sell-through performance.
  • Forecast sales, track performance, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Stay up to date on new product launches, marketplace initiatives, and industry developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or a related field OR 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of merchandising or account management experience in IT e-commerce, ideally working with brand vendors or third-party sellers.
  • At least 1 year of experience managing vendor P&L, including MDF and Co-op accounts.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce marketing strategies and promotional planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP or marketplace systems is a plus.

Essential Mental & Physical Function

Mental Functions: Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to supervisor's guidelines.

Physical Functions: Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant keyboarding and telephone usage.
