The Job
The Marketing / Clinical Liaison acts as a liaison between internal and external referral sources, and internal operations. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining long lasting relationships with physicians, case managers, and other referral sources, and ensuring appropriate patient placement through clinical screening assessment in conjunction with internal clinical leadership.

In this position, the Marketing / Clinical Liaison will achieve budgeted census goals for the communities by:
- Assist with the coordination of Admissions training for the designated communities in assigned area.
- Assist in education, organization and inservice training for sales for sales and marketing programs in communities.
- Assist with market development in designated area.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly budgeted admissions.
- Establish and cultivate professional relationships with referral sources to generate repeat referral opportunities.
- Perform competitive analysis of competitor communities on periodic basis as requested.
- Work with Administration on an ongoing basis regarding concerns and issues which impact census building in the Community; Respond to requests and participate in field ride-along and trainings.
- Identify need and opportunity for the Community to package programs with clinical, nursing, and medical directors to market specific diagnosis-based services.
- Develop strategic annual and 90-day sales plans based upon budgeted census needs, payor mix, and patient mix.
- Maintain working knowledge of state and federal regulations that pertain to admissions and marketing.
- Track physician non-monetary items for compliance and submit to ML Healthcare Management. Adhere to all Stark Laws and Anti-Kickback statutes.
- Attend in-service and educational programs, as requested.
Qualifications
- Residency in the Austin Region preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience as a marketing representative, or clinical liaison in long term care environment.
- Bachelor's degree in related area preferred but High School Diploma or equivalent a must.
- Successful track record in leading, managing or direct sales and marketing, preferably in Skilled Nursing Healthcare environment;
- Possess a professional level of knowledge in physician relations, case managers, social workers & insurance companies in the local market; extensive knowledge of local provider and medical communities.
- Ability to assess and respond to the needs of physicians, discharge planners, patients and family members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect, and interact with referral sources on all levels. Ability to work well with medical and administrative staff as well as patient and families.
- Ability to be available for occasional evenings for marketing events, weekend coverage, and routine day travel.
- Proficient in the use of computer systems (Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record system, etc.)
- Must possess the ability to make decisions using discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to the Company.
- Ability to interface with case managers and insurance companies.
- Must have experience with insurance companies and case manager relationships.
