GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the operations of the swim team program.
Required Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Minimum of three (3) years aquatic coaching experience. Experience teaching the fundamentals of swimming to youth preferred.
Essential Functions
This position must have an adult/child CPR, First Aid, and National Pool and Water Park Lifeguard and Training License required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position must be able to occasionally move objects such as lane lines weighing up to 25 lbs. and rarely over shoulders and head weighing up to 25 lbs. This position will be required to frequently move about the pool deck and offices, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, and reach. This position should have the physical ability to perform CPR on adults and children.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This position must be able to be exposed to all extreme summer weather conditions including heat, sun, rain, and varying degrees of temperature and light. This position will also be exposed to pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.
SALARY
Looking to hire at $15.00 per hour
SALARY RANGE
Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum
$15.00 - $18.75 - $22.50

Essential Functions
- Schedule and conduct team practices.
- Attend all swim meets and practices.
- Communicate with participants, parents, coaches, and representatives.
- Represent Wheaton Park District at conference and team meetings.
- Instruct participants in competitive swimming skills.
- Maintain a safe environment and be responsible for safety of participants at practices and meets.
- Assist in hiring training, supervising and evaluating of assigned staff and parent volunteers.
- Attend coaches meetings.
- Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
- Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
- Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
