The mission of the Recreation Division is to enable all New Yorkers to lead physically active and intellectually stimulating lives through sports, fitness, outdoor adventure, technology, education and the arts. Recreation programs include specialized exercise classes, youth sports, senior activities, summer camps and free afterschool programs. Recreation programming occurs throughout the City in NYC Parks recreation centers, parks and playgrounds.
The new, 65,000 square foot Mary Cali Dalton Recreation Center will be a state-of the art community hub, offering many programming options and amenities to encourage learning, recreation, and fitness. The center will feature a gymnasium, fitness rooms, and multi-purpose rooms that will host a variety of Afterschool, Summer Camp, Robotics and Arts & Cultural programs.

Major Responsibilities
- Under the general direction of Center Management, and with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, assist Borough Recreation and Center Management leadership in coordinating facility maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate with Capital Projects, Citywide Services, Borough Trades, and division leadership on active projects. Assist with project tracking, progress updates, and reporting.
- Contribute to the administration of division service contracts (e.g., elevator services, fire-alarm systems, fitness-equipment maintenance), implementing quality improvements and streamlining service delivery.
- Support Center Management in completing required maintenance checklists and follow up on all related action items to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in monitoring major building systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), boiler systems, roofing, indoor pools, and other critical infrastructure to maintain a state of good repair.
- Track, analyze and report on facility-related performance metrics.
- Research, analyze, and prepare reports, operational analyses and summary documents. Respond to internal and external requests for information.
- Enter and manage work requests in the Asset Management Parks System (AMPS) and assist Center Management in coordinating with internal maintenance divisions and service units.
- Provide general office support, including maintaining electronic and hard-copy files and answering departmental phone inquiries.
- Assist with special projects and assignments as needed.

- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
- Familiarity and/or experience with purchasing procedures, facilities management operations, and capital-project workflows. 2. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, writing, and time-management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, vendors, and stakeholders. 3. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams). Experience working with the Asset Management Parks System (AMPS). 5. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required. 6. Possession of a valid New York State driver license.
