Job Description And Duties
The General Services Department is accepting applications for a Full-time/Permanent Business Services Officer II (Supervisor) position.
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, this position will oversee Housekeeping Operations. One of the most important duties is to evaluate and improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Housekeeping services while containing operational cost.
Knowledge of: English grammar and punctuation; principles and practices of public administration; financial record keeping; and housekeeping equipment, supplies, and cleaning procedures; personnel management and supervision; the department's EEO objectives the BSO II’s role in it.
Ability to: Communicate effectively; learn rapidly; follow directions; analyze data accurately; reason logically; maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work; and utilize good work habits; plan and direct the work of others; prepare Purchase and Service Orders for Housekeeping supplies and services; prepare budgetary data on such needs; and analyze situations and problems accurately and take an effective course of action; estimate future Housekeeping needs and cost of equipment, supplies and services and prepare budgetary data on such needs.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
