Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Redondo Beach, CA

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) software initiatives. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical software systems across both development and operations & maintenance contracts. The work involves supporting multiple software product lines and delivering new capabilities in collaboration with a restricted SCI customer.

This is a 100% on-site role in a SCIF environment, contributing to national security missions including Next Generation Ground Systems, Ground Element Modernization (GEM), and software deployments to both CONUS and OCONUS operational sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop software using C++ in a fast-paced Agile environment
• Design, implement, and unit test new software features based on mathematical algorithm requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including discrepancy reports
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across multiple subsystems
• Work within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments including VMs, servers, and workstations
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5-8 years of experience, or master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3-6 years of experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1-4 years of experience (An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming
• Experience working in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevSecOps and test automation
• Familiarity with additional programming/scripting languages: C, Java, Python, Perl
• Strong mathematical and algorithmic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience working in Agile scrum teams
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
• Experience with Git and Linux-based development environments
