- Assists in planning, coordinating and directing overall project activities and communicates issues to upper management.
- Receives, studies, formulates, executes, and expedites special projects and assignments.
- Participates in, reports on, and recommends action on special assignments involving meetings with other governmental agencies and public organizations.
- Reviews existing procedures for compliance and formulates new procedures if required.
- Monitors, evaluates and resolves problems related to activities assigned.
- When so designated, may assume the authority of, and act on behalf of a more senior official.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of the functions, activities, requirements and objectives of the specific program/functional area to which assigned.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of management.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement complex projects, programs or activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others within and outside own organization.
- Ability to use initiative, and exercise sound judgement.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is primarily sedentary.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year degree granting college or university; AND
- Three years of experience coordinating projects, programs or activities; OR
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.

- Maintain the ability to pass the background checks required for the position. These background checks may include but are not limited to:
- Criminal History Background Check using Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
- Level 1 and Level 2 Background screening (Ch. 435 Florida Statutes)
- Child Abuse, Abandonment and Neglect Record Check using the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- Sex Offender and Sexual Predator record check using the list maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)
- Possess the necessary job-related license(s) or certification(s) that may include possession of a Florida Driver's License (Class E) or an applicable Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
