Sales Trainer, Sr. Specialist at Vanguard

Responsibilities


  • Deliver high-complexity training for new hires and ongoing development (sales crew and leaders)
  • Design and implement scenario-based skill practice and reinforcement (e.g., simulations, role plays, objection handling)
  • Own readiness assessments; use results to guide reinforcement planning and communicate with stakeholders
  • Plan and lead reinforcement sessions; track outcomes and recommend self-guided activities
  • Communicate new hire progress and reinforcement plans to aligned leaders regularly
  • Maintain compliance in training documentation (attendance, practice activities, readiness scores)
  • Use data to drive reinforcement strategies, measure impact, and adjust quickly
  • Share insights and feedback with sales leaders, coaches, and curriculum teams for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate readiness assessments and handoff to floor-ready status
  • Support sales coaching during training using standardized strategies and documentation; communicate feedback effectively


Qualifications


  • Deep sales expertise and fluency in methodology best practices (discovery, positioning, objection handling, multi-product selling)
  • Expert facilitator (live and virtual) with strong classroom leadership and engagement tactics
  • Skilled in diagnosing skill gaps and crafting targeted practice quickly
  • Strong coaching literacy; models facilitation and feedback skills for the tea
  • Consultative selling fluency (Korn Ferry PSS, PSC, SPIN); translates into effective practice drills. Korn Ferry certification strongly preferred.
  • Data-driven decision-making; uses assessments and reinforcement to guide content improvements
  • Proficient in Learning Management Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication; effective stakeholder management
  • Five years related experience. Three years of sales or training experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
