You’ll support your team, help solve problems, and ensure everything runs smoothly, especially when it comes to patient financial matters. You’ll also be the go-to person for training, reporting, and communication with management.

You’ll support your team, help solve problems, and ensure everything runs smoothly, especially when it comes to patient financial matters. You’ll also be the go-to person for training, reporting, and communication with management.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Team: Guide and support staff throughout the day, helping with questions and challenges.
- Train New Employees: Welcome new team members and make sure they’re set up for success.
- Keep Things Running Smoothly: Monitor patient flow and adjust staffing or services as needed.
- Handle Insurance & Billing: Verify insurance details, ensure pre-approvals are in place, and work with clinical teams to resolve billing issues.
- Be the Point Person: Act as the main contact for financial questions and concerns at your location.
- Report & Analyze: Complete reports and analyze data to make sure everything aligns with UPMC guidelines.
- Communicate with Management: Share updates, feedback, and concerns regularly.
- Support UPMC Values: Treat everyone with dignity and respect and follow all policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related fiscal/admissions/registration function
- Associate degree and 1 year experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Medical terminology, third party health care coverage experience and strong understanding of managed care regulations are required.
- Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.
