About the role

Analyst, Aluminum — will be a recognized industry analyst who leads and delivers specific aluminum product offerings. The role requires translating client needs into market-shaping analysis and forecasts, contributing to CRU-wide content, and ensuring learnings are integrated into the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop robust analysis and perspectives across the aluminum services within remit to contribute to CRU’s wider content and client engagement.
  • Build an industry profile as a trusted aluminum commodity analyst.
  • Support Service Leads to identify new business opportunities and participate in client meetings, demos, and webinars.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contacts in client accounts and wider industry participants.
  • Respond to client and internal requests for data and market-forecast insights.
  • Contribute to analysis and forecasts for assigned Service(s); conduct primary and secondary research, including market and institutional interviews.
  • Maintain, organize, and update the data series that form part of customer deliverables to ensure accuracy and currency.


Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution.
  • Preferred: Further education or certification in a subject relevant to commodity research (e.g., geology, economics, engineering).


Skills & Experience

  • Ability to gather and critically analyze both “soft” and “hard” data, identify trends and drivers, and generate clear conclusions and insight.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and manage large datasets and understand mathematical concepts and processes.
  • 2+ years in mining & metals commodity research; direct industry experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong collaborator who actively shares best practice with the global CRU analysis team, balancing personal initiative with teamwork.
  • Confident communicator with the stature to gain client respect and build trusted relationships across all mediums.
  • Experience conducting primary research and translating market learnings into accurate, up-to-date data and forecasts.
