Leadership Functions (Responsibilities)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a professional, high-performing team by planning, assigning, training, and reviewing work while managing performance and organizational structure.

  • Maintain effective communication with team members, peers, and senior leadership to ensure operations are synchronized with short- and long-term corporate goals.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)

  • Develop and execute a long-term supply chain strategy and support initiatives aligned with business objectives and client expectations. Develop robust risk mitigation strategies for supply disruption, quality events, or geopolitical instability.
  • Drives the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment of demand forecasts, capacity plans, and financial objectives across commercial manufacturing activities. Stewards cross-functional collaboration and integrated decision-making to balance client commitments, operational efficiency, enterprise-wide capacity, and strategic growth through an integrated, data-driven planning approach.
  • Oversee procurement and production planning activities across multiple sites for raw materials, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods, balancing customer service needs with resource availability.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships across the enterprise, including raw materials, API’s, excipients, packaging materials, and consumables. Ensure supplier compliance with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including balanced inventory levels, write-offs, and scheduling policies, while ensuring accuracy in count and location. Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital and service levels.
  • Manage global logistics operations, either directly or through partnership with Operations, to ensure on-time and compliant delivery of clinical and commercial products. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, hazardous material handling, and other logistics requirements.
  • Develop and execute demand forecasts and capacity plans across multiple sites for equipment, warehouse space, labor, and production resources to meet mid- and long-term operational requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements for materials, supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with procurement standards.
  • Direct the development and implementation of integrated operational systems for procurement, inventory management, production planning, and warehouse control. Drive digital transformations across the supply chain (e.g., ERP, E2E, visibility tools, data analytics).
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase supply chain resiliency and responsiveness.
  • Serve as a key supply chain liaison for CDMO clients, ensuring alignment of supply chain execution with customer project timelines and specifications.
  • Partner with Business Development and Program Management to support new client onboarding and technology transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) across warehousing and operational systems.
  • Travel approximately 5 – 10% of the time.

Education

What You Will Bring to the Role:

  • Minimum Required: Bachelors in related discipline.
  • Preferred: Masters in related field.

Experience

  • Required: 15 plus years of related work experience.
  • People Management: 10 plus years in leading and managing teams.
