The role
The School of Arts is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Immersive and Digital Media. The successful applicant will contribute to curriculum design and teaching on the MA Immersive Arts programme, as well as to the development of new co-taught PGT programmes across the School of Arts, including in Film & Television. MA Immersive Arts is an innovative programme co-taught with computer science colleagues and MSc Immersive Technologies students. You will join the Immersive Arts team at an exciting moment, as the course moves to the University’s new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, a state of the art interdisciplinary teaching and research facility, and we prepare to launch the MA at University of Bristol’s new Mumbai Enterprise Campus. Successful candidates will make a significant contribution to advancing the University’s research focus on creative and cultural industries and to the Faculty’s Centre for Creative Technologies.

You should apply if
- You hold a PhD in immersive arts/digital media (VR/AR/XR, interactive or spatial storytelling, virtual production) or a closely related field.
- You have significant academic experience, including substantial post-PhD teaching and research achievements.
- You demonstrate proven academic leadership in teaching and research, with a consistent record of internationally excellent outputs (including practice-as-research).
- You bring practical experience of teaching immersive arts/technologies and digital media, e.g. experience design, immersive production, XR performance/installation, interactive narrative, virtual environment design, 3D animation, virtual or post-production.
- You are familiar with using emerging technologies, software and hardware for immersive and digital media.
