Job Summary
The Senior Business Development Manager will primarily focus on the energy markets and grid service applications. The Senior Business Development will be responsible for managing a number of existing client accounts, expanding business by acquiring new accounts, and growing existing accounts. Finding innovative solutions to our customer’s problems is a daily responsibility while maintaining superior customer service. This role will focus specifically on the commercialization of Mesa’s PowerCore distributed energy platform, targeting commercial, industrial, and mission-critical customers who can benefit from resilient backup power solutions integrated with utility-sponsored demand response and load-reduction programs.

Essential Duties
- Maintains relationships with major client accounts.
- Expands business by acquiring new accounts and growing existing accounts.
- Engages in dialogue with customers to understand their needs.
- Overcomes price concerns and other objections by building value in the Mesa Solution.
- Directs customers to the best solutions based on their expressed needs.
- Diffuses difficult conversations professionally.
- Works in a team environment, as well as independently and without direct supervision.
- Forecasts production and sales.
- Stays up to date with current marketing industry trends, and best practices, and constantly brings new ideas to the table that will support the company’s growth strategy.
- Maintains knowledge of the company’s product and service offerings.
- Meets with Superintendent level to C-Suite level personnel as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Develops and executes go-to-market strategies for the PowerCore platform, including customer targeting, program participation, and microgrid opportunities.
- Identifies and qualifies commercial and industrial sites where PowerCore can provide revenue-generating backup power and operational resilience.
- Coordinates with internal engineering and operations teams to deliver tailored energy solutions, including load profiles, utility integration, and deployment timelines.
- Manages partnerships with utilities, real estate firms, EPCs, and energy program aggregators to expand PowerCore adoption.
- Leads initial customer discussions and feasibility analysis; prepares proposal materials in collaboration with technical staff.

Education
Required
- High School or GED
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in a related field from an accredited university.
Required
- 7 years experience in energy specifically (microgrids, demand response, or distributed generation sales for resiliency applications, BEES).
- 7 years overall sales and customer service experience.
- 10+ years experience in a related field.
- 5 years business development experience in energy specifically ((microgrids, demand response, or distributed generation sales for resiliency applications, BEES).
- 5 years experience selling to commercial/industrial customers or facility managers strongly preferred.
- Target markets include: Midland TX, Houston TX, Denver CO, Casper WY, Pittsburgh PA, PJM Region, NM, OK
- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.

- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- Must possess and maintain a valid United States passport.
- Maintains and strengthens relationships with major client accounts.

- Deep understanding of distributed energy resources (DER), backup generation, and demand response programs.
- Familiarity with utility programs and market structures (e.g., APS, ERCOT, CAISO, or other ISO/RTO demand-side programs).
- Ability to translate technical energy solutions into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset, with ability to evaluate ROI, IRR, and total cost of ownership in energy projects.
- Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
