Description
SHINE Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be an integral member of the Accounting Operations team assisting in all aspects of the daily accounting activities including the month-end close process. The Senior Accountant may be asked to assist with financial reporting, GAAP and tax compliance matters, internal controls, internal and external audits and payroll. The Senior Accountant is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, be able to identify and implement process improvements, drive positive change across the organization and build and enhance partnerships between Accounting and other departments.
The base salary range for this position is $93,000 - $115,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties And Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execution of Month-End close by preparing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, roll-forward schedules, and analytical reviews.
- Become a subject matter expert on different accounting topics including but not limited to cash management and cash flows, fixed assets, government grants, accruals, debt and equity management, payroll & benefits, financial systems (NetSuite), inventory, product costing, expense management, and revenue.
- Participate in process improvement projects, internal control design and testing, process automation, user acceptance testing, and process and procedure documentation.
- Support AP, AR, FP&A, and other areas of accounting and finance when needed.
- Assist and facilitate the development of new process and procedure as the Company grows.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4+ years of accounting experience.
- Knowledgeable of and able to accurately apply GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles) to recurring transactions.
- Strong knowledge of the Chart of Accounts, Trial Balance, and other financial reports.
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage competing work priorities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, such as Power BI and Power Query, Vlookup, and Pivot functions.
- Able to lead, follow, influence, and collaborate with others.
- Embraces change and is a life-long learner.
- A Master’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA license
- Other related professional certification including CMA, CIA, EA, CISA, CFA, or MBA.
- 6+ years experience as a senior accountant or equivalent role. Prior experience with SEC registrants, international organizations, or “Big 4” a plus.
- 3+ years experience in any of Cost Accounting, Internal Audit, Consolidation and intercompany, or Tax.
- Interest and aptitude for information technology.
- Financial systems implementations
- Experience with NetSuite highly preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech start-up, or similar company.
