The Role:
The Low Voltage Estimator is responsible for analyzing project blueprints and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for the installation of low voltage systems. The role is critical in the pre-construction and bidding phases to help secure contracts and ensure project profitability.

The Role:
The Low Voltage Estimator is responsible for analyzing project blueprints and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for the installation of low voltage systems. The role is critical in the pre-construction and bidding phases to help secure contracts and ensure project profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, specifications, and related documents to understand the full scope of work.
- Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Develop comprehensive bids and proposals, including cost summaries and scope of work narratives, that align with project requirements and deadlines.
- Solicit and manage quotes from material suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and proper coverage for the project scope.
- Work closely with sales teams, project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope, address deficiencies, and facilitate a smooth handover of awarded projects to the operations team.
- Maintain detailed documentation, track bid statuses, and update cost databases with historical pricing and actual costs to refine future estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site assessments to gather necessary information, identify potential risks, and propose value engineering solutions.
- Strong understanding of various low voltage systems, including structured cabling (UTP (Cat5e, Cat6), fiber optics), access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarms, and A/V systems.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities to evaluate data and identify cost impacts.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards, such as those from the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).
- Requires 5+ years of experience in low voltage estimating or a related field .
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Travel requirements – 10%-15%.
