Barton Supply is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Scheduler to manage the daily and weekly production schedule for our Rebar Shop. This role serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Production—ensuring customer orders are scheduled accurately, efficiently, and safely.

What You’ll Do
As the Scheduler, you will
- Build, maintain, and communicate the production schedule for all rebar equipment and fabrication lines.
- Assess daily workload, machine capacity, and staffing levels to confirm realistic production timelines.
- Push back or adjust commitment dates when the shop reaches capacity.
- Update schedules as needed due to call-outs, equipment issues, urgent orders, or material delays.
- Coordinate with Sales to validate lead times before commitments are made.
- Maintain accurate scheduling and routing information within Barton’s systems (ERP/MRP, order entry tools).
- Prepare and distribute daily and weekly production forecasts and capacity reports.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Support workflow improvements, cross-training efforts, and operational planning.
- Provide backup support for order processing or production coordination when needed.
- Participate in shop walk-throughs and support all safety initiatives.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2-4 years of experience in scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing coordination (rebar/steel preferred).
- Experience in a high-volume fabrication environment strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency with production scheduling tools and ERP systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to set realistic expectations with internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with rebar fabrication workflows.
- Experience improving throughput or machine utilization.
- Primarily office-based with frequent shop floor interaction.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature changes during shop visits.
- PPE required when entering production areas.
- Full-time role with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
