ROLE PURPOSE
Provide engineering and technical expertise to the Grand Prairie, TX facility to improve process performance, equipment reliability, and product quality across extrusion and secondary manufacturing operations. Lead initiatives to enhance plant safety, drive cost savings, and maintain compliance with operational and regulatory standards. Champion the development and implementation of Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) and Standard Run Conditions (SRC) to ensure consistent, efficient, and safe production performance. Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodologies to optimize manufacturing processes and deliver measurable business improvements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Process Improvements: Identify, lead, and implement process improvement initiatives across extrusion and secondary operations to enhance quality, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Capital Projects: Manage smaller-scale capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from concept through execution, ensuring timely completion, cost control, and alignment with plant goals.
- SOC and SRC Management: Develop, maintain, and verify the accuracy of all Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) and Standard Run Conditions (SRC) for the facility, collaborating with operations and quality teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Cost Savings Program Ownership: Serve as the sole owner of the facility’s cost savings program. Proactively identify, quantify, and execute cost reduction opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Track and report program results to management.
- Failure Analysis and Prevention: Troubleshoot process and equipment failures, conduct root cause analyses, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to minimize recurrence.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Support continuous improvement of plant safety performance through engineering design and process initiatives. Ensure all activities comply with corporate safety standards, including HSP (Health and Safety Program) and PSM (Process Safety Management) requirements.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering departments to monitor progress of projects, trials, and initiatives. Provide timely status updates and technical reports to management.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies, materials, and process control systems applicable to extrusion and related operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing preferred).
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within extrusion, secondary processing, or flexible packaging.
- Proven hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems related to machine process capability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated application of statistical methods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management, process troubleshooting, and workflow analysis.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar continuous improvement methodologies (Green Belt/Black Belt certification a plus).
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CREO) preferred.
- Knowledge of polymers and extrusion processes is a plus.
- Ability to travel as required and provide flexible support to meet manufacturing needs.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, positive approach to problem-solving and process ownership.
