As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The Privacy, Safety, and Security (PSS) organization is accountable for driving Google’s privacy, safety, and security outcomes. The team's mission is to keep users safe as a pillar within the Core organization. In this role, you will lead executive level strategic communications and engagement initiatives within the PSS organization. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering clear, consistent, and engaging communications for leaders that foster a shared understanding of PSS's idea, strategy, and impact across the organization. You will not only craft compelling narratives and execute communication plans but also drive key organizational initiatives, partnering with PSS’s top executives across engineering, product, and program management.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience in internal communications, executive communications, or a related field.
- Experience developing and executing internal communications.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience supporting senior executives.
- Experience working with engineering or technical organizations in domains related to security, privacy, or trust and safety.
- Ability to measure communication impact and effectiveness.
- Ability to manage organizational change through strategic communications.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy for PSS, aligning with leadership priorities and organizational objectives.
- Lead communication, provide strategic counsel, and craft key messages, presentations, emails, and other materials.
- Translate technical concepts, project updates, and organizational changes into clear, concise, and engaging content tailored for various internal audiences across PSS and Google.
- Manage the rhythm and channels of PSS internal communications, including all-hands, newsletters, internal sites, and leadership updates.
- Establish mechanisms for feedback and measure the effectiveness of communication and engagement programs, using data to iterate and improve. Identify communication opportunities and risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
