About The Role

As an Architectural Designer (Non-Licensed) at HFG Architecture, specializing in healthcare projects, you will play an essential role in the architectural design process. Working under the supervision of licensed architects, you will contribute to the development of design concepts and assist in the creation of construction documents for healthcare facilities. Your creative design skills, technical proficiency, and attention to detail will contribute to the successful execution of architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Design Development:

Assist in the development of architectural design concepts for healthcare projects. Collaborate with licensed architects and design teams to create innovative and functional design solutions that meet the project's vision, requirements, and industry standards.

Architectural Drafting & Detailing

Prepare architectural drawings and details, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements and design intent.

3D Modeling & Visualization

Create 3D models and visualizations of architectural designs using software such as Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools. Communicate design concepts effectively to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Construction Documentation

Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and schedules. Collaborate with licensed architects and engineers to integrate their designs into the overall project documentation.

Building Codes & Standards

Familiarize yourself with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards, including those specific to healthcare facilities. Ensure that architectural designs and construction documents comply with applicable codes and standards.

Material Research & Specification

Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, and products for healthcare interiors. Consider factors such as durability, aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. Prepare material boards and specifications.

Design Coordination

Coordinate with internal teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to integrate their designs and ensure coordination and compatibility with the architectural design. Address design conflicts and resolve coordination issues.

Presentation & Communication

Assist in the preparation of design presentations and visual materials for client meetings, reviews, and presentations. Clearly communicate design ideas, concepts, and rationale to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Professional Development

Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in architectural design, and emerging technologies. Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, and training programs, to enhance skills and knowledge.

Travel Requirements

This role requires approximately 10-15% travel for project-related needs, including site visits, client meetings, and occasional industry events.

Qualifications

  • Vocational, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as ENSCAPE or Revit. Experience with 3D modeling software and visualization tools is desirable
  • Familiarity with architectural drafting, detailing, and construction documentation processes.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards relevant to architectural design.
  • Strong design and visualization skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas using 2D and 3D representations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in the preparation of architectural drawings and documentation.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and interact with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices is a plus.
  • Previous experience or coursework in healthcare architecture or a related field is preferred
