  • Supporting students with poor academic performance by assisting with academic recovery plans, connecting them to tutoring and support services, and coordinating interventions to improve course success and persistence.
  • Serving as a Retention Advisor for vulnerable and high-risk student groups, offering structured check-ins, coaching, and resource navigation to promote continuous enrollment and progression.

The advisor is proactive and engages students through regular communication, consistent documentation of outreach and interactions, and intentional connections to college and community support services. Advisors assist with academic interventions when necessary and collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure coordinated care for students. Advisors utilize a variety of technology platforms to connect with students and track progress. The ability to learn and implement new technologies and the willingness to work in different environments are essential.
