JOB LOCATION : Main Campus

DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION SERVICES

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,

Position Summary

The SGMC Network Security Analyst is part of the Information Services Security Team and monitors and assists with the administration of the enterprises’ cybersecurity defenses – including Firewalls, Incident Response, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, and Vulnerability Scanning. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

  • Track and report suspected incidents and ongoing cybersecurity incidents to the Information Security and Operations Manager.
  • Respond to verified incidents utilizing a wide array of tools to mitigate active threats.
  • Assists with audits, investigations, or other compliance activities as required.
  • Participate in projects and assignments within the IT Security Team.
  • Assist with maintenance/support of security network technologies.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills providing technical support and guidance to users.
  • Other job duties may include Helpdesk Support and Systems Administrator responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems preferred.
  • Must have at least four (4) years of computer support experience with technical certification or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of network experience.
  • Required Active Certifications: Cisco CCNA, or CompTIA Security+, or (ISC)2 SSCP.
  • Preferred Active Certification: Security Blue Team Level 1 (SBT1).
  • The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about information security solutions, including data loss prevention, intrusion detection and prevention, network security monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • Must be self-motivated, detailed, deadline and service-oriented individual that can accurately set priorities.
  • Must possess precise written and verbal communications, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and technical skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Business setting, indoors with the possibility of irregular hours and/or call back, moderate to heavy stress on a continued basis. Duties require: Required to work a flexible schedule to accommodate on-call and other responsibilities, including accessing systems from out of campus to analyze/resolve system problems/halts. Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays during conversions of software/operating systems, installation of enhancements/hardware, or meeting deadlines on programming needs. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, eye and hand coordination. Requires corrected vision to an acceptable range. Considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting (in excess of 50 pounds). Extreme mental effort required with ability to assess and make decisions in abbreviated time frames.
