Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. The Senior Accountant ensures accurate financial records, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will also provide financial insights, cost analysis, and operational support to drive informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Accountant prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, and production results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain standard costing processes and perform variance analysis.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost allocations.
- Assist with audits, ERP system projects, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP implementations or process improvement projects.
- Knowledge of inventory management and standard costing methodologies.
- Exposure to audit support and internal control documentation.
