Responsibilities:
- Nutritional Assessment: Conduct assessments of residents' dietary needs and preferences, collaborating with healthcare staff to create individualized meal plans.
- Menu Planning: Develop and implement nutritionally balanced menus that meet residents' dietary requirements, preferences, and regulatory standards.
- Supervision: Manage dietary staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure effective food service operations.
- Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all food safety and sanitation regulations are adhered to, including proper storage, preparation, and serving practices.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the dietary department budget, controlling food costs, and minimizing waste while maintaining high-quality service.
- Resident Interaction: Foster a positive dining experience by interacting with residents, gathering feedback, and making adjustments to enhance satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and therapy staff, to support residents’ overall health goals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of menus, dietary assessments, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Experience: Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required. On the-job training will be provided.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required.
- Associate’s degree in food service management, nutrition, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a dietary management role within a skilled nursing facility or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
