Job Summary:
Primary responsibility for Quality within the Personalization area. Supporting Process Improvement Team and Product Engineering within the site. Definition of Control Plans, Inspection plans, measurement systems and sampling programs.Participate in improvement efforts and scrap reduction initiatives to establish an effective quality management system. Assist in the implementation of quality improvement activities appropriate to raise the performance of the company’s product. Educate and train staff regarding their impact in the quality control process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Standards and specifications
- Review and understand Customer, International (ISO) and G+D Group Company specifications and requirements.Quality Planning
- Harmonization of quality targets, especially attribute acceptance criteria, based on agreed failure catalogue(s)
- Follow-up on improvement actions
- Support engineering efforts by participating in product development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer
- Develop, execute and analyze quality data analysis measures.
- Drive experiments to understand and interpret data, identifying Common and special causes of Variation.
- Support, e.g. FMEAs, statistical process control, general problem-solving methodologies.
- Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
- Report compliance to all required procedures and work instructions as required by ISO per the G+D Twinsburg’s Quality System Manual.
- Audit In-process inspection control and final inspection.
- Track Audit Corrective Actions and support with Best Practice implementation.
- Participate in G+D’s quality audits programs
- Train QA staff and production operators as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in quality, mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years quality assurance/quality control experience
- Experience of Manufacturing or Process engineering.
- Detailed knowledge of various Manufacturing processes including metal cutting.
- Knowledge of and experience with the following ISO 9001, 8D, APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), including DFMEA, PFMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), Gauge R&R, QFD (Quality Function Deployment), DoE (Design of Experiments) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Detailed knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
- Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques, and documentation.
- Familiar with Six Sigma theory and principles.
- Ability to independently drive quality initiatives, including setting up quality management practices for newly introduced products is a must-have.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong Data Analysis Skills. Understanding of Relational Database structures, ability to design data analysis reporting.
- Strong computer skills including QA applications (i.e. Minitab), Microsoft Office, and database development.
- Strong preference given to individuals who have a working knowledge of defect prevention vs. defect detection.
- Understanding of general safety requirements.
- Ability to teach and train others.
