Summary of Position
The Grounds & Facilities Manager is a full-time, fully on-site, and non-exempt position. The Manager oversees all aspects of the daily management, maintenance, security, safety and enhancement of the buildings and grounds of Samish Island Campground & Retreat Center (SICRC). The Manager ensures campground and buildings are ready for each user group’s arrival and supervises contractor and volunteer grounds and facilities personnel. The Manager reports to the Campground Director.

Essential Functions
- Maintains grounds and buildings
- Maintains equipment (machinery, tools, etc.)
- Manages campground supplies
- Emergency, Security, and Disaster Response
- Prepares for camps
- Is available to event directors and assists as needed
- Resets campground between events
- Assists volunteers and plans for volunteer events
- Reports work done and work needed on campground
- Ability to traverse independently over rough, unpaved terrain
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.
- Ability to relocate up to 50 pounds of materials.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in verbal and written form
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to prioritize schedule to eliminate or minimize the need for overtime
- Competence with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Gmail
- Prepare reports as required for supervisor and board of directors
- Hold valid driver's license, obtain Washington State food handlers card, and be certified as a Community of Christ Registered Youth Worker. Take anti-harassment training via Community of Christ.
- Engine maintenance (for tractor/backhoe/small equipment)
- Painting skills, basic carpentry skills, building maintenance and repair
- Awareness of environmentally sustainable lawn and grounds maintenance techniques
