Description
The typical duties of the Production Supervisor are to oversee/facilitate the daily operation of the Plant, this includes all hourly personnel in the plant not overseen by a direct on-site supervisor or Manager. The Production Supervisor delegates tasks to subordinates – like operation of the line, inspections, PM duties, minor repairs, reporting, direct supervision of small groups. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for administrative responsibilities, examples include maintaining shift staffing, covering vacations, completing shift reports, completing accident investigations, and conducting performance reviews

Requirements
12 hour Night Shift from 7pm-7:30 am- rotating days
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Safety/Quality – acting as an example to the production team. Also, an acting liaison between his/her team and the Safety/Quality Manager(s).
- Guiding the efforts of the production team to ensure we protect our employees and ensure our facilities are safe, clean, and secure.
- Participate in the evaluation of potential candidates to fill open shift positions.
- Train new and re-assigned personnel in the safe execution of duties in each role they are assigned.
- Ensuring a food safe environment and the manufacturing of quality product.
- Receive, acknowledge, deliver, and actively support company goals and objectives through direct communication to shift personnel and exemplifying their execution (show through your words and actions you support the goals and objectives).
- Responsible for the efficiencies of production team and ensuring his/her teams achieve their company goals and objectives as they relate to safety, quality, speed, delivery, and cost.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to achieve manufacturing excellence by leading and reinforcing a Lean Culture.
- Contribute to the development and establishment of clear performance metrics for his/her team.
- Develop methods to track and report progress against the plan and budget.
- Report daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly metrics as required.
- Identify cost savings opportunities in the production process and recommend improvements needed to address those costs.
- Address deficiencies in personnel performance through training, coaching, and the progressive discipline process.
- Other duties as required by management.
To perform this job successfully the individual must have the following or equivalent:
- Able to read, write, and speak English and Spanish a plus.
- 5 plus years’ supervisory experience in leading teams and leading projects.
- Has managed people.
- Ability to create and execute projects/plans and contribute to the development of tactical plans using the appropriate decisions and priorities.
- Proven experience in optimizing operational organizations to minimize cost per pound.
- Knowledge of lean/TPM business practices a plus.
- Effectively coach team members and provide performance feedback and development opportunities within areas of responsibility.
- Ability to drive results and perform in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. Ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, process driven, have effective planning and implementation skill sets. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team leader/member with a diverse group of people at all levels within the organization.
