As our Director of Pricing, you will be responsible for all pricing strategies and actions for our retail products and services. Accountable for the creation and management of our retail price structure across all products, the Director of Pricing will work closely with Product Strategy, Purchasing, and Marketing to ensure stores have competitive retail prices while achieving optimized profits for the company.
This role will direct the implementation of the Les Schwab pricing structure from SKU Management to integration of store cost and retail price. The role will drive the pricing strategy to meet the strategic and competitive needs while maintaining and improving historical profitability.
Champion the advancement of modern pricing strategies, AI technology and usage of the new price management tool to enable pricing agility in the organization.
As a key member of the Pricing & Promotion Marketing Governance (PPMG) group, this role will lead the creation and management of these meetings. You''ll be responsible for gaining approval on price changes, new product pricing and preparing/presenting the proposals that go in front of the Executive Team. Coordination and cooperation with Marketing to assemble meaningful product promotions across all product segments with a focus on the balance between unit sales, profitability and inventory levels to ensure promotion success, is a key focus of this role.
The Director of Pricing reports directly to the EVP, Chief Supply Chain Officer, and is based out of our headquarters in Bend, OR.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for a visa sponsorship.
Primary Responsibilities/Functions
Work Environment: Office, non-manual work; the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The worker must be available when urgent issues arise that require their coordination or escalation. Urgent-availability needs are rare but the worker is expected to comply when they occur. This may include performing work outside of regular hours and/or supporting teams performing off-hours work by checking in remotely and/or in person as necessary.

- Manage Strategic Retail Price Positions & Execute Price Strategy
- Analyze Pricing and Sales Trends to Strengthen Price and Promotion Strategy
- Executive Price Strategy Reporting, Proposals and Governance
- Direct Pricing Operations & Strategy teams
- Advance the pricing management tool usage and enable AI functionality
- Other Projects as Defined by the Executive Management Group
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or comparable experience.
- 10-12+ years of progressively more responsibility in pricing and marketing functions in automotive components, tires or similar consumer retail goods.
- MBA or equivalent work experience is a plus.
- Expert knowledge in use of Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate working experience in Microsoft Powerpoint / Google Slides
- Working knowledge of productivity applications (Google G Suite, MS Office, etc.)
- Working knowledge of pricing management applications
- Experience in identifying pricing opportunities in the automotive retail aftermarket.
- Proven ability to develop business cases supporting product introductions
- Understanding of price influence on retail & commercial customers
- Proven successful project management skills
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision making skills with proven ability to manage highly complex and diverse assignments
- Leadership: Ability to manage, motivate and develop employees to ensure successful completion of work tasks and projects to achieve organizational goals and objectives; the ability to encourage teamwork; delegate authority and provide direction
