Your role won't involve delivering pre-scripted content or managing a conventional virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic, interactive online sessions that challenge students to explore meaningful topics—storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and beyond. You'll coach them toward self-reliance, support their individual journeys, and help them cultivate the capabilities that truly matter outside the classroom.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating engaging, virtual workshops centered on essential life competencies such as creative thinking, effective communication, and analytical problem-solving
• Providing one-on-one and small-group mentorship to cultivate self-direction, executive function, and personal confidence in students
• Leveraging platform analytics to customize interventions and monitor student development longitudinally
• Partnering with other educators to refine and expand project-driven learning modules

Virtual Student Mentor Key Responsibilities

Drive student development and readiness for life beyond school by facilitating impactful, practical learning experiences within a flexible, entirely virtual educational framework.

Basic Requirements

• Valid US teaching certificate from any state
• Background in teaching, mentoring, or coaching students (Grades 4–8 preferred)
• Confident virtual facilitation skills; at ease leading sessions on camera
• Able to commit to full-time hours (M–F, 8am–5pm Arizona time)
• Prepared to start within 2-3 weeks

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $30 USD/hour, which equates to $60,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
