Training Shift Lead at Amy's Kitchen
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Stakeholder Management - Maintains effective communication, effectively manages stakeholders, and ensures plant training needs and concerns are addressed.
· Addresses complaints and resolves problems timely with team and stakeholders for their shift.
· Actively keep the Training Manager in the loop on any issues being raised and addressed by Trainers & Lead
· Proactively bring up training issues and work to resolve issues with Training leadership and within depts.
· Participate in Monthly Dept Check-ins with each department
· Attend Food Safety Meeting identifying change events that impact training.
· Report out on all relevant Training Metrics
· Lead and participate in Root Cause Analyses, calling out what needs to be updated in training materials.
· Attend other dept huddles to hear what is going on (1x per week)
Team Management - Manages shift performance, provides direction and coaching to team, effectively communicates with team and Manager.
· Leads daily shift huddles - 5 min - plan for the day
· Ensures updated data is posted on Tier Boards daily
· Clearly and confidently presents at Training Tier Board daily
· Plans, assigns, coordinates and directs work for their shift
· Provides timely feedback to trainers as needed, coaching as needed
· Communicates daily with Training Manager, keeping Manager informed and escalating issues
· Provides Shift Handoff from 1 shift to the next
· Checks in with Supervisors regularly to ensure they have what they need from the training team.
· Engage, instruct, and coach Training Specialists
· Ensures smooth start-up/end of shift,
· Audits how work is being performed by Training Specialists
· Cover overall plant training issues that come up in shift.
· Ensure Trainers are completing weekly/monthly training requirements
· Works with team to complete needed dept specific training based on learning plans
· Works with team to capture changes to new products, new processes, new machines, new tools, and food/workplace safety changes to training materials are updated or new materials are added.
· Ensure trainers use Coach to Log Huddle Topics
· Participates in Training Specialists interviews and selection
· Trains new team members
Programs:
New Hire Onboarding/ Buddy Program
· Track Progress and proficiency of temps and employees-in-training
· Plans NH Orientation including how many people we are expecting and if Eng & Spanish is needed (creating rotation so that all trainers gain experience doing it)
· Works with Scheduler to maintain skills in SAM and plan new hire release date from training
· Assigns all new employees to a trainer who will be doing a daily verbal check-in with new hire
· Ensure completion of New Hire requirements (NH Learning Plan, NH Scorecard, etc.)
· Works with team to assign and evaluate buddies in each department
· Ensures Buddy Pay is tracked and tracker is up to date by the end of each month.
Program/Project Support
· Ensure there is a plan to complete the required compliance training each month.
· Ensures all aspects of the LOTO Program are met for their shift.
· Ensures all aspects of the PIT Program are met for their shift.
· Escalate to Training Manager when they hear of machine/process changes
· Supports new/needed updates to training materials
· Support Gallup completion for shift
Communication:
· Communicates with Training Manager daily to: understand training goals (short & long term)
· Progress and proficiency of temps and employees-in-training. Ensure that they are scheduled appropriately according to their additional training needs.
· Report back on training team issues and any other issues coming up during their shift
· Elevates issues that come up during shift
· Communicates with department Managers and leads
· Progress and proficiency of temps and employees-in-training
· Check in with Leads and Supervisors to understand if their training needs are being met.
· Report any food quality, food safety or workplace safety issues immediately to department management and ensure the Training Manager is aware.

FLEXIBILITY
If needed, work outside of shift and/or times to continuously support the training needs in the plant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages team, shift performance, provides direction, manages stakeholders, communicates with and escalates to Training Manager for support.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
· High school education; or equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE
· 3 - 5 years’ experience working in food manufacturing.
· Experience in training employees on-the-job.
· Experience in facilitating classroom training.
· Experience leading a team
· Experience with public speaking
SKILLS
· Knowledgeable on all aspects of Food Safety and Workplace Safety
· Knowledgeable on Products, Procedures and Processes at Amy’s Kitchen.
· Knowledge of training audit requirements.
· Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Alchemy LMS tools: Creator, Manager, Player, and Coach.
· Strong communication skills
· Detail oriented and highly organized
· Positive and professional attitude
· Interpersonal skills to motivate and coach employees to be their best and to achieve department goals.
· Demonstrated ability to support and listen to stakeholders and team members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; will need full use of their arms/hands; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the plant floor where there is machinery, moderate to high noise levels, and constantly changing conditions. This person will spend some time at a desk and is also walking throughout the plant throughout their shift.
