PeaceHealth SHMC at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $87.94 – $131.90. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
This position will cover all of the PeaceHealth Oregon network - so occasional travel to Cottage Grove and Florence will be required.

Job Summary
Under the direction of Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services, this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day, operational, and clinical activities to ensure optimal ambulatory services are provided. The manager facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe and cost-effective drug therapies. Within scope, ensures compliance, financial management, staff development, patient satisfaction, and quality within the network.
What you will do:
- Supports PHMG leadership with the development and implementation of pharmacy clinical programs which are designed to enhance quality, improve member service, and enhance cost effectiveness.
- Assists in the selection, training, development, and evaluation of pharmacy staff. Ensures adequate staffing and effective utilization of resources.
- Implements medication safety best practices, including vaccine safety, opioid safety, medication recalls, and compliance. Supports network ambulatory medication safety, including safety event review, data analysis, research, and follow-up.
- Maintains financial sustainability of ambulatory pharmacy services by optimizing and identifying billing opportunities for pharmacists’ services, evaluating patient throughput and workload, and maintaining appropriate staffing ratios.
- Partners with the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy to ensure pharmacy services follow professional standards, including state and federal regulatory requirements. Provides regulatory and compliance support for clinics.
- Reviews quality assurance indicators to determine the effectiveness of the staff in delivering pharmacy services.
- Partners with ambulatory leadership to ensure policies and procedures are implemented to address and achieve patient care goals, including services across the continuum of care and population health are implemented in accordance with organization, regional, national, state, and federal requirements.
- Provides response, support, and countermeasure development for safety stops.
- Maintains appropriate metrics and compliance/audit programs.
- Develops and maintains internal relationships and external relationships as needed.
- Doctor of Pharmacy Required: Pharmacy Rph, BS, Pharm D.
- Minimum of 5 years Required: ambulatory and hospital pharmacy experience; 2 years of which are in a supervisory capacity
- Experience building and delivering clinical services
- 2 years Required: working knowledge of federal/state pharmaceutical codes, rules, regulations, laws, and procedures applicable to the profession
- 2 years Preferred: PGY1/PGY2 Residency
- Required: Upon Hire: Pharmacist - Oregon Registered Pharmacist in State of Practice and
- Required: within 6 months Licensed Pharmacy Preceptor
