This role is suited for an experienced technical leader who combines people management with deep, practical expertise in modern IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and systems administration. The ideal candidate leads by example, mentors effectively, and contributes directly to technical work while driving long-term IT strategy.

About The Role
We are seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and develop our technology team. - This role will be based in Provo, UT but will require regular travel to our headquarters in Heber, UT as well as occassional travel to our various regional offices*
What You'll Do
Leadership & Strategy
- Work in a corporate environment under the direction of an IT Director.
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff, strengthening both technical and professional capabilities.
- Act as a subject-matter expert, providing hands-on guidance and real-world technical leadership.
- Continuously work with other departments to assist with company technology innovation and process automation.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and execute the organization’s IT strategy and roadmap.
- Manage vendors, contracts, and procurement for hardware, software, and services.
- Oversee IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources aligned with business priorities.
- Define, implement, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Plan and manage IT projects, timelines, and implementations with minimal operational disruption.
- Monitor ticket queues and service levels to ensure timely issue resolution and SLA adherence.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Assist with training internal staff in SOX compliant practices and perform internal audit attestations.
- Incorporate and assist with the IT needs of other corporate subsidiary companies as required.
- Perform hands-on work in Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Build, maintain, and optimize on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Proactively monitor system performance and address issues before they impact operations.
- Assist with managing networking environments, including cable, switches, firewalls, and end-to-end deployments.
- Standing up new field and office locations with networking and IT asset needs.
- Oversee imaging, configuration, deployment, and support of laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and other endpoints with Microsoft AutoPilot and PXE.
- Actively participate in the ticketing system to resolve issues, maintain service quality, and improve team response time.
- Use ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus (or similar tools) for ticketing, asset management, and ITIL-based operations.
- Troubleshoot and support both physical and logical networking environments.
- Develop and maintain automation to improve IT and business workflows.
- Apply scripting, automation, and data tools, including SQL, PowerShell, Power BI, Power Automate, Databricks, and cloud AI tools.
- Explore and implement AI-driven solutions, including LLMs and workflow automation, where they add business value.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience managing and developing IT teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure, networking, and infrastructure design and support.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through direct technical contribution, not solely delegation.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting end-user devices and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Willingness to work hands-on and see tasks through to completion.
- Experience with ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus.
- Enterprise networking experience (physical and logical).
- Working knowledge of SQL, scripting, and automation tools.
- Experience with Databricks, cloud-based AI platforms, or LLM-driven automation.
- Experience with VMWare ESX hosting, NetApp, Synology NAS, Boomi, Nasuni,
