The Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer (FSE) to provide after-sale engineering support and on-site services across Biolog’s East Coast territory.

This role is based in the mid-Atlantic region on the East Coast, with training conducted at Biolog locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. The FSE will support customers across a group of Eastern U.S. states and Canada, requiring 50–90% travel.

The ideal candidate resides in a major East Coast city within 45 minutes of a major airport, with a strong preference for the Washington, DC–metro area.

Where You Make a Difference

  • Perform on-site instrument installation, validation, preventative maintenance, and repair
  • Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and remote access tools
  • Maintain accurate customer records, service documentation, and work orders in ERP/CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Conduct in-house performance testing and preventative maintenance as needed
  • Explain Biolog services, capabilities, and advantages to customers to help grow the business
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Field Applications teams to support customer success
  • Travel extensively across assigned territory in the U.S. and Canada to support customer sites

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in engineering or a related technical field
  • 1–3 years of experience servicing hardware and software systems for life science tools
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in instrument repair
  • Strong proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (MS Outlook, Zoom, TeamViewer, Slack, etc.)
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Proactive, positive team player with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Experience performing field service in GMP laboratory environments (preferred)
  • Knowledge of microbiology (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Active passport for international travel (Canada, as needed)
